Dulce Et Decorum Est                                Owen?s  rime serves to uncover the lie that it is   mellifluous and becoming to die for one?s country. Owens use of diction,   declare language, and graphic imagery emphasizes his point.  The poem describes the fatigue,  dodgeness, evil, obscenity, death, sufferings, and disgust of war.  It shows the true   tone story of a soldier, lying low, ill, endlessly trudging through  louse up with  spread over feet, away from and into the pain of gas inebriety of comrades, and away from the  hurt and dead, but never away from the memories.
